Nutrition is an essential component to the base of our fitness. Our capacity and ability to recovery is directly linked to nutrition. Training sends the signal for your body to adapt, and nutrition provides the building blocks for those adaptations.

Diet vs. Nutrition: We like to make the distinction between a diet and nutrition. Many of the clients we work with think about ‘good eating’ as following a specific, and often restrictive, diet. For us a diet is temporary Although there are times when following a diet is appropriate (preparing for a specific event, experimenting in order to learn, or due to certain medical conditions), for the long term, we believe that focusing on your nutrition is more important.

Our approach to eating views it as something that is interdependent on your sleep, exercise, finances, emotional wellbeing, and more. When we work on nutrition with clients we first perform a general assessment to determine all of the factors that may be contributing to their current eating habits, and then focus on the ‘lowest hanging fruit’ which we believe will move the needle.

Nutrition Goals
For those looking to eat in a way which is healthy, sustainable, and in line with their goals, we believe that your diet should meet the following criteria:

  1. Provide Energy

  2. Not Feel Restrictive (be based around eating things you like) or Extremely Difficult to Maintain

  3. Provide room for any situation

  4. Work Based On: Schedule, Finances, and Lifestyle
